My grandfather's idea of supporting his family with fishing and guest rooms worked out. Originally from the Bavarian forest in Freyung, my esteemed great-grandfather moved to Berlin to find his first great love. After he and his wife gave birth to my grandfather in Berlin on the Spree, he moved to my birthplace. The centre of the Friedl family's life. Wasserburg. My esteemed grandparents made a living from fishing and the catering trade. I am now allowed to carry on and I am very proud of that. Our fishing lodge has been around for more than 100 years and has been lovingly maintained by my family. I would like to invite you to enjoy this unique experience of staying in an authentic fisherman's cottage. It may not be perfect, but it has been preserved as our fathers built it with their own hands.

The modern and well-furnished holiday apartment “Maximilian Friedl” is situated in the lakeside town of Wasserburg, near Lindau, only a short walk from the beautiful shores of Lake Constance and combines charme with fishery. The 115 m² apartment consists of a living room with a sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a bedroom as well as one bathroom and an additional toilet and can therefore accommodate 4 people. The apartment, located in an old building, was renovated by self-initiative over decades. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi and satellite televisions in both the living room and the bedroom. The apartment has a balcony, where you can start the day with breakfast or spend the evenings with a glass of wine and tasty dinners. For fish lovers, there is a fishmonger's at the house, selling trout, char and whitefish. The shared outdoor area boasts a garden for you to relax in the sunshine. Due to the apartment’s ideal location, you can reach a bakery after a 5-minute walk (400 m), the train station (with a bus stop) and supermarkets after 700 m or a 9-minute walk, the restaurant "Daniel's" is just a 2-minute walk across the street, and you will find a pharmacy after 650 m or 8 minutes on foot. The closest beach, Hegestrand, and its restaurant are only 150 m or a 2-minute walk from the property, where you can enjoy refreshing swims and the scenic views of the lake and the Alps. There you can also rent SUPs at the "Sumserhalle". If you enjoy an Aperol Spritz in the sunshine, you can visit Wolfgang and Gitti's kiosk only a short walk from the apartment. Famous hotel "Schloss Portner" is located 350 m or a 4-minute walk from the property. The town’s ferry terminal is a 5-minute walk (450 m) away, from where you can board ships for example to cross the lake to Lindau, which can also be reached after a 16-minute drive (7 km). The charming old town centre on an island invites you to stroll about the narrow streets and explore the centuries-old architecture. In winter, you can also drive to a popular skiing area in 20 minutes (15 km), located near the Austrian town of Bregenz, famous for its many cultural offerings and wonderful shores. The hilly area around Lake Constance also offers many hiking and cycling routes through woods and natural reserves, as well as around the lake. The house has been owned by a fishing family for over 100 years and over 4 generations. The family originally comes from the Bavarian Forest, then moved from the Spree to Wasserburg on Lake Constance. Parking spaces are available on the property. A baby cot is available. Pets are not allowed. Unfortunately, this accommodation can not be booked longer than 4 weeks on the portals. Please contact the host if you are planning a longer stay.
